Dang. I was just looking at my SiteMeter and realized I had a visitor from Iran.
Well anonymous visitor, if you or anyone else from Iran should happen to read these words, take my advice: Leave your country as quickly as possible.
Trust me. As soon as your government gets nuclear weapons (and I'm fairly certain they will), the US and/or Israel will come bomb the crap out of your country. It's not going to be pretty.

Similar to the second video - I think it'll be awefully hard for us to do much in Iran while we're tied up in Iraq. No way can we afford to get involved in invading a second country at the same time. And if we did bomb them, one would hope it would only be nuclear sites - ergo your friend only needs to steer clear of them.
Jared, I don't think we're as "tied up" as many people think. Yeah, we have a significant number of troops in Iraq, but that doesn't mean our military would be incapable of using ground troops for anything else. I've heard a lot of Defense Dept. officials saying things to that effect.
The real problem with a bombing campaign is that we really don't know where the nuclear sites are. Some of them, yeah. All of them? No. And if we bomb those that are redundant, that may make the problem worse before it gets better.
As far as worst case scenarios go, this seems more and more to be one of them.
I don't necessarily mean tied up physically - but politically, absolutely. Bush has had to fight a much tougher battle convincing people that the Iraq war is a worthwhile endeavor than he expected. True, most people don't support immediate withdrawal; but with all the cane that's been raised concerning how we got to Iraq in the first place - his administration can't afford another war. Not unless things in Iraq go very well very quickly in the next year or so and public opion drastically changes. Then he might be able to say - look - see what I did? Let's go do it again! Huzzah!

You're right, the political expediency is difficult.
But as long as he can get Congress behind him, screw public opinion. He's not up for re-election.
I know that sounds harsh, but I would much rather he take an unpopular action to prevent Iran from getting nukes than to hold off and finally do something (with public support) after Tel Aviv is a radioactive crater.
Hm . . . as far as the baseball thing goes, I saw an argument somewhere that the team should really be composed of Cuban nationals who play in the US. If I find it, I'll let you know.
